| BXT: A Reintroduction | Jeff Harris, July 10, 2008 |

In 2000, The X Bridge experimented with a magazine format. Yes, the site did have opinion pieces and such, but truth be told, I wanted something that would represent a truly independent voice, uncumbered by corporate interests and general sycophantic emotions. I called this mini-revolution Absolution Station, in honor of the late, great vessel of Toonami, then my site's primary focus. It was a fun experiment that allowed me to write detailed articles about issues I felt needed talking about without inserting my opinions. I also provided reviews and interviews. It was fun.
For a while. I felt I neglected the general site too much. Plus, I felt that Toonami needed more attention than outside companies, so Absolution Station came to an end. Years later, the BXT experiment, which created Absolution Station-like commentaries, came and went. Nobody noticed nor seemed to care. In recent months, I noticed there's a void in news coverage. News sites tend to cover a story or a trend, but some rarely go deeper into the story. Some only cover something when it makes headlines, creating short term stories that briefly attract readers only until the next thing. Also, some sites cater more to corporate entities and their own personal feelings about a subject. Heaven knows how many anti-Dreamworks and anti-Seth MacFarlane stories I've read in recent years. There is a void. BXT: The Absolution Station will fill it. Today, I'm announcing the return of BXT and Absolution Station under one combined brand: BXT: The Absolution Station, a monthly magazine returning this fall to The X Bridge with a featured cover story, weekly reviews and commentary, interviews, and other things that . I also want outside voices to be a part of this in the op-ed section. I also want people who know how to write and articulate a viewpoint and opinion without using a lot of profanty and vitrolic language. No cut-and-paste articles, and keep in mind this is a non-paying job. The Alternate Animation News Magazine is reborn. This is BXT: The Absolution Station, soon to be part of the next decade of The X Bridge. |

Gephyrophilia #4: Let the Games Begin - Keeping it short and sweet this week.
New Reviews: Making Comics and How To Draw Stupid - Two books that force you to examine how you create comic books. Think of it working with both sides of your brain. New Reviews coming next week. BXT Cover Story #2: Can DC Comics Be Media Savvy - DC Comics is slowly making in-roads in the entertainment industry, but they've got a long way to go before they even catch up to Marvel and other studios. What's holding them back, and what could they do to turn themselves around? BXT Extra #2: Casting Bebop - Keanu is not Spike. My master plan for a great Cowboy Bebop live-action movie and not one that'll scare the fans.
