    HFIL: An Update

    August 9, 1999.

This was the first time I'd ever set foot into the Home For Infinite Losers. Never would have thought that the section, which just offered my opinions about the way of the industry, would be so popular, especially on a site that's supposed to be "just an average Toonami webpage." In the nearly three years since I first stepped into the HFIL, a lot of things have changed in the industry. Some have changed for the better while others have changed for the worst. Do I claim responsibility for these changes? Heck, no! How egotistical do you think I am? Afterall, I'm just a fan, nothing more, nothing less.

The first three "Losers" (Saban, DiC, and Studios USA) have undergone radical transformations these last couple of years, while Nickelodeon has become somewhat experimental in their programming for a short period in 2001. Jamie Kellner has moved up in the world and hasn't changed at all. As for Disney? Well, they're a great example of change taking bold steps creatively and professionally, even buying one of the country's biggest children's broadcaster, but I think that I'm getting ahead of myself. As a result of the changes that have occurred over the last couple of years, some of these "Losers" have become depowered while others have lept to loserdom never seen on this planet. Without further adieu, here's the update of the HFIL Hall of Shame:

DiC and Studios USA: Two Very Separate Paths

Disney: Taking Chances in a New Age

    Saban Entertainment: Disney's Newest Weapon?

    Nickelodeon: The More Things Change...

Jamie Kellner: One Down, One To Go
