Been watching the news? There's a monster of a hurricane making a b-line to my neck of the woods a couple of days. Hurricane Isabel is on her way to the Southeastern Virginia area. Don't know how hard we're going to get hit, but all indications are saying that when it comes, it's gonna come hard.

It's going to be a strange couple of days around here (got to make sure everything's secure around the homebase), so this will be my last update for a while. Hopefully, it won't be a long while.

In the meantime, I have the last article I'll write about Sean's interview at ANX. Perhaps I was a little too wound-up in my previous commentary a couple of days ago, so without further adieu, Confessions of a Toonamitaku.

One more thing. If you have time to check out a movie, go see Once Upon A Time in Mexico. Robert Rodrieguez is America's John Woo with his cinematic vision and legendary storytelling skills. Probably one of the best movies I've seen all year (and I've seen a lot this year), and makes me wish the Academy had a Best Action Picture category. Maybe Carolina (Salma Hayek) could get one for her song in the end credits. If you have time after that, rent Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid, one of the most underrated films from Carl Reiner and Steve Martin. It's a great noir comedy that blends scenes from classic films with a story that blends comedy with mystery. A showcase of two of the funniest minds on the planet.

Speaking of comedic minds, it's a pity we loss one so young last week. Man, I'm still shocked and saddened by John Ritter's passing last Thursday. It's not that often that actors excel in both comedy and drama. Afterall, aside from being a noted theater star, he made a mark as a very gifted physical comedian, the modern day incarnation of slapstick thespians like Chaplin, Lloyd, and Keaton. Truth be told, he was a genius, and he will be missed.

That's all for now, and I hope the fates allow that we do this again.
