WATCH THIS SPACE #32: Six More Days . . . BRRRR!
Ruri from NadesicoIt's cold.

Most of the East Coast is buried in snow. Washington, DC and New York City are virtually shut down, and there's no relief in site. Meanwhile, in my neck of the woods in Portsmouth, Virginia, all we're getting is . . . rain. Cold, icy rain. No snow, no accumulation so we could be shut down. And it's not letting up until later in the week. So, in the meantime, I guess my daytime job will just allow me to stay inside a little more.

Have you noticed the super-hyping of Giant Robot Week? Oh, man, wall-to-wall ads hyping the hell out of perhaps the biggest thing to happen to Toonami in a long, long time. Everybody and their mother knows about Giant Robot Week, that it just advertises itself.

Of course, I woke up and realized that the super-hyping was just a dream. Honestly, over the weekend, and much of yesterday, I saw more ads for Saturday Video Entertainment System, Pokemon, and this week's CCF lineup more than Giant Robot Week, and considering they acquired the rights to air these episodes for one time only, you'd think they'd want to advertise it more.

Call to arms, Toonami faithful. We can't just sit there and watch them bury this event like that. We all got to do our parts to promote GRW online as well as tell your friends offline (you know, that place away from the computer). If you got a site and have the graphic skills, plug away at it. If you're on a message board with signatures, plug GRW in it for the remainder of the week. Tell a friend, tell a neighbor. Tell everybody you know that's interested in giant robots to check out Toonami starting this Monday at 4 PM EST/PST. Do the advertising that Cartoon Network obviously won't do to promote this event.

*sigh* not even a mention on the official site . . . shameful.

I promise I'll have something to say next time.

Until we are one, later.
