WATCH THIS SPACE #36: Barely Made It
Spent the day at the mall.

I'm sure most of you guys and gals did that today. Went to the movies to see Daredevil, which I LOVED, and I looked for something worth reading after the movie. Luckily, I found the third issue of Shonen Jump, the first time I saw the popular manga anthology in my local Waldenbooks bookstore (yeah, the new one comes out March 4, but there aren't any comic shops within city limits). Needless to say, it was definitely nice paying such a low price for a whole lot of manga titles like Toonami fave Dragon Ball Z (gosh, the manga version of Trunks' telling of the future to Goku is much better than the animated version) and future Toonami fave Yu Yu Hakusho (which were NOTHING like the series, which may be good if you wanted to see something completely different, like a trio of quiet, sweet stories, or bad if you wanted to see the usual with demonic action ala the series). I think I'm beginning to dig Naruto, One Piece, Sand Land, and this month's new title, Shaman King.

Overall, it was a good issue. Remind me to review it someday.

The other thing that kind of caught my eye was kind of disturbing. Well, disturbing is kind of harsh. I think I'll say it was comical. I knew that there were knockoffs of many popular toylines, from G.I. Joe to Star Wars. I also knew there were knockoffs of a few Japanese titles, most of them originating from Japan. Today, I saw a knockoff of Dragonball Z/GT figures. Something called Fighter Z. It was cheap plastic ripoffs of Trunks, Goku in his traditional outfit, and Super Saiyan 4 Goku (you know, furry red bodied monkeyboy?). I nearly burst out laughing when I saw them, especially that one with the hole in his head, but I realized that I was in a public place, so I refrained from laughing by the time I got home. Luckily for me, I missed the torrential downpours and lighting when I was inside the mall.

Not much of an update today. Come on! I needed a day off. Been a long week around here. Stay tuned Monday. Fun's about to begin.

Until we are one, later.
