As I Was Saying

Ooh! New Logo!

Howdy, hello, and salutations.

This is not an update. Not entirely, anyways.

What this post is all about is the future of TXB. Yes, it has a future.

I know, I know, it’s been a while. If anybody is actually reading this, well, thank you. I’m sure if you’ve been hanging around me, you know that today, July 10, is the 27th anniversary of the original site’s opening over on GeoCities. Now, some of you may be asking yourself a few questions:

This site has been around for 27 years? What the heck is GeoCities? And why should I care about the future?

Let’s start again.

Welcome to TXB: The Bridge, a magazine for animated opinions and waves of thoughts and the celebration of a worldwide medium.

My name is Jeff Harris. I’ll be your host.

For those who knew me way back when, welcome back. Sorry I’ve been gone so long. For those new to the site, welcome. I owe you a bit of a recap:

Long Ago In A City Lost Forever

On July 10, 1998, this site began life as CN2: Toonami Revolution, one of the first websites dedicated to Cartoon Network’s Toonami. It was hosted on GeoCities, for three years. In 2000, CN2 became CNX: Toonami Revolution. That name change came because of the creation of Boomerang.

In the summer of 2001, CNX moved to Toon Zone  (now known as Anime Superhero) and introduced the Toonami Revolution Board at the “gated community” formerly known as Toon Zone Forums.

Yeah, we wore that on-air slam like a badge .

In 2004, CNX became the name of a real Toonami-inspired network (and I had a LOT to say about that back in the day), so, this Toonami-inspired site changed its name to The Bridge. Well, The X Bridge because that name was taken as domain, so the name of the site reflected that.

TXB also started shifting away from Toonami coverage to more articles about the animation industry, cartoons I dig, and other things that came to mind. I was having fun with that format. Even managed to celebrate Toonami’s 10th anniversary properly.

Then life got in the way.
