Life got in the way.
2008 was a terrible year for TXB and me That entire period between 2008 and 2015 made me reevaluate why I still continued to work on this site.
Other things that were happening were more important than talking about a cartoon block.
My grandfather whom I was a caregiver of got sicker. In June, my uncle died suddenly. Then in late July, my house got struck by lightning and I lost my computer and a lot of my work. I lost cable around that time toon. In September, Toonami ended.
Then, my grandfather died that November.
I tried to rebuild myself and TXB months later. I wanted to refocus more on things I liked. People wanted me to talk about a dead TV block and ONLY a dead TV block.
Around this time, I created a stand-alone blog known as Thoughtnami. The story of that site and why I came back there is explained in this post.
Then, somehow, Toonami came back, but my heart really wasn’t in it. The night the ’90s kids didn’t sleep, I was losing sleep over my mother’s health. The next day, she lost consciousness and nearly died, so Toonami’s return was irrelevant to me.
I really tried to get back into the site, but I couldn’t (mentally and literally), so I said goodbye to The X Bridge around fall 2015.
Although I left TXB behind, I still remained online for a decade. I was freer to be myself.
So what did I do in that time?
I moved on. Kind of summed up a lot of what I did during that time in this post, so I don’t need to repeat myself.
And now we’ve come back to this old site.
But why?
