Toonami and The X Bridge has a long history together. In fact, the block and the site are intertwined together, not to mention becoming a part of each other's legacy.
When The X Bridge began life as CN2 (before evolving into CNX a year later), the site was fully dedicated to Cartoon Network's action-animation block known as Toonami. When I launched the site, there wasn't really a Toonami section. I talked about the block, but I never dedicated a full section on the block until the 2004 relaunch. Although I tried to separate myself from the brand, I knew it wasn't meant to be and I have realized something.
This is the legacy of The X Bridge.
Welcome to the Toonami section of the net's oldest continuously-updated Toonami fan site and a center of the Toonami Inner Circle Alliance, a fan community that is one of the most influential forces on the internet. Well, maybe not THAT influential, but the collective sites of the Circle do have the attention of the power players of the anime industry and those behind the scenes of our favorite block, Toonami (and sometimes, they listen!). The purpose of my contribution of the Inner Circle is to provide a historical perspective of Cartoon Network's oldest action-animation block, currently the longest running strip in the network's history.
So, enjoy your stay, and remember . . . the revolution WILL be televised!

Happy 11th Birthday Toonami

It's a big day here at The X Bridge's TICA Base. It's the 11th anniversary of the premiere of Toonami on Cartoon Network. Eleven years ago today, the better cartoon show made its world debut completely changing industries and ideals about action-animation for over a decade. Although it's pull is considerably less than it is today, there's no denying that Toonami was a revolution within itself.
This is the TICA Base. In the Datadock, you'll find out about tidbits about the block, from little known factoids to the best of the years that was. In this week's yearly look, I'll cover the first year. Let's face it, a lot of Toonami's main audience weren't even alive when it launched (I'm raising my hand because I was). So, check out Toonami 1997 in the Datadock. More updates will occur throughout the next couple of weeks. Many of which won't be announced officially, so, check it out!

The Revolution Begins Anew

It's been a while, so let me get down to business.
This is TICA Base, the control room of the Toonami Inner Circle Alliance, one of the oldest and most influential collective of Toonami fan sites. Since 1998, the Inner Circle has been the cornerstone of the Toonami fan community, providing news, information, multimedia, history, and dialogue about Cartoon Network's premiere action block. We've seen the evolution of Toonami since day one, and needless to say, all of us, those that left the block behind and those still chronicling the block, are disappointed with the state of Toonami now.
Revolution 11 launches right now. What is Revolution 11? One last fight to save Toonami. One last chance to show that we, the fans, the Toonami faithful, still believe in a better cartoon show. Now that it seems as if the block's future is up in the air, now is the time to show that we not only care about Toonami, but we also want the block returned to the glory days when it wasn't just a throwaway slot for anime shows not on Adult Swim.
The Revolution will be.
By the way . . . like the new digs? I'm opening up TICA Base a little earlier than expected, but on March 17, expect a full-scale opening with year-by-year analysis of the block, more details about the block than you even knew, and other things in the months ahead.
In the meantime, prepare to fight, and watch this space.
