Toonami's legacy has grown in the decade it has been on the air. From its original incarnation in 1997 as a two-hour weekday afternoon block with three shows and classic action shorts to its current incarnation as a Saturday primetime block with premieres each and every week, Toonami has left a strong legacy of entertainment.
I look at and appreciate Toonami through a historical perspective at The X Bridge because it is one of the most alive television blocks ever created. Toonami has reignited an entire industry years before technology helped them out, launched (and relaunched) numerous profitable franchises, responsible for various spinoffs and numerous ripoffs, and polarized many animation fans. It has inspired many and frustrated others.
In this section of the TICA Base, I will talk about Toonami's legacy to the world, from the shows I felt made an impact over the years to the block's various incarnations, including the ill-fated Kids' WB version and the current UK network. I will also bring in the rest of the Inner Circle to talk about how Toonami has affected their lives enough to do what they do as well as interview folks who have a first hand experience in Toonami's continous evolution.
Toonami is alive. This is its legacy.
Starting in March 2007, you will see the legacy of Toonami revealed here at The X Bridge.
