Remember what Cartoon Network was like before the madness settled in? A variety of animated titles from all over the world. A mix of spoofing and celebrating all things animation.

No live-action.

That what the new Cartoon Network will aspire to. Cartoon Network will take on the the vision initialized by Ted Turner, Betty Cohen, Linda Simensky, Dea Connick-Perez, and many others almost 20 years ago to create an all-animation channel catering to all animation fans young and old. The lineup would be an equal mix of classic and current titles airing throughout the day. There would be no mandate to appeal to "just kids" that became the standard for the original network in 2001, which led to the creation of Adult Swim that year. Cartoon Network would be wall-to-wall cartoons all day and all night long with no airings of live-action sitcoms or movies at all. Not even repurposing repeats of live-action shows nor "Props" segments from the former Cartoon Network.

The network environment would be an updated cross between the checkerboard background motiff and the Powerhouse era graphics with an newer version of the cityscape music. The original Cartoon Network checkerboard logo, still used by the cartoon titles, will return as the network's masthead and logo. Interstitials that had been dormant since 2004 will be relaunched and new segments will be created. The pre-2004 commercial break format will also be reinstated on the new Cartoon Network.

The basic plan is to essentially go with what originally worked before as the core foundation of the new Cartoon Network. Another thing that worked before was the creation of a shorts program. So, you shouldn't be surprised at what I'm planning next.
