The First Exoneration
After examining the six suspects, I feel like I have to clear one suspect in the death of Saturday mornings.

Of all the suspects mentioned, I have problems with outside interests being an excuse for the death of Saturday mornings. Why? For starters, there have always been outside interests since the dawn of time. Well, maybe not the dawn of time, but in the era of television, kids always had outside distractions. Whether it was backyard football or baseball games at the park, hiking, club meetings, trips to the theater for an afternoon matinee or modern distractions like video games, the internet, video and DVD, and various other activities, they play no part in the demise of the concept of Saturday mornings.

Video games have been a part of our consciousness since the mid-70s, and whether it's home consoles, dark, cavernous arcades, or bright pizza time theaters, they continued to co-exist with Saturday morning programming to this day. Yes, video games have gotten better, but they shouldn't be used as the excuse for the reason for the decline of the quality of Saturday morning programming.

So, Suspect Six, outside interests, is cleared of the charge of murdering Saturday mornings.

In the next act, I'll point out the motives and clear another suspect. Until then, this court is adjourned.
